La Trappe is the only authentic trappist brewery in the Netherlands and one of only thirteen abbeys that are a part of the International Trappist Association. Located within Our Lady of Koningshoeven Abbey at Eindhovenseweg 3, 5056 RP, Berkel-Enschot, the brewery radiates a sense of tranquility and community.
The monks have been producing trappist ale here since 1884.
Guests can enjoy a tour of the brewery, a delicious lunch with beers from the tasting room, and can even live among the monks in a guest house on the grounds.
My husband and I, along with a couple of friends, joined the English tour at 11:00 where we learned about the history of the brewery, the brewing and production process, and then enjoyed a pour of ale at the end. It was a lovely experience that I would highly recommend.
