My Vision

To provide informative and entertaining content for fellow travelers and beer lovers.

Travel Goals

I only have a few primary goals with any location that I explore:

  • Tour main attractions. It's always more authentic to partake in activities that are off the beaten path, but there is something to be said for experiencing the main attractions as well.
  • Enjoy a coffee shop. Get my daily dose of caffeine while soaking up the surrounding culture and indulging in different brewing styles and blends.
  • Visit a brewery or distillery.  Listen to the origin stories and interact with brewers and patrons alike while sipping on a beverage unique to that location.

I aim to accomplish at least one of these items with everywhere I go, but the best trips typically include all three.

Raised in a conservative small town in Texas, I was not overly exposed to alcohol of any kind within my family. That all changed when I reached college.

Unlike most normal college freshman coming from a conservative background, I did not plunge into debauchery and illegal shenanigans…but rather it was a slow descent over the course of my four years at a state university. Even among the frat guys and friends I made, I did not choose beer as my drink of choice. It was all wine coolers, cocktails, and shots. Upon graduation, moving to the city, and the acquisition of more beer-educated friends, I learned there is something to be said for a quality brew.

I proceeded to seek out and go to many local breweries and even incorporate at least one brewery in each of my travels abroad. Each one presenting their own unique flavors, atmospheres and experiences.
